What Should I Do if My Business Loan Is Denied?

Start by finding out why the request was declined. Credit, insufficient cash flow, limited operating history, documentation and program restrictions call for different responses. A rejection by one provider does not describe every available program, but submitting the same incomplete or unaffordable request elsewhere may not improve the outcome.

Which Reason Should I Address First?

Ask for the actual reason and any information about what would need to change. Separate a missing document from a substantive issue such as insufficient cash to support payments. One may be corrected quickly; the other may require a smaller request, a different plan or time.

Keep the decision and any written explanation with your records. If credit information appears inaccurate, check the underlying report rather than relying only on a score shown in an app.

Would a Smaller or Different Request Help?

Possibly, if it changes the economics. Break the use of funds into essential and later-stage items instead of simply asking for the same amount from more providers.

Separate the Two Purchases

A $35,000 request might contain $12,000 of inventory for existing orders and $23,000 of speculative expansion. Reviewing the smaller, defined purchase may produce a different discussion. It still needs an affordable repayment plan; reducing the amount is not a promise of approval.

When Does Credit Preparation Make Sense?

If the credit profile is the obstacle, Propello can discuss preparation and whether a separate Venture Ready consultation is appropriate. That is different from suggesting credit repair when the problem is low revenue or excessive debt payments.

  • Bring the reason for the decline.
  • Identify any changed facts since the application.
  • Update revenue and outstanding payment totals.
  • Decide which part of the funding need is essential now.

No preparation service can guarantee a score increase, removal of accurate information or a future funding approval. Keep the next step tied to the actual issue.

Educational information, not a loan offer. Availability and terms depend on the program, property or business, and borrower qualifications. Legal and tax questions should be reviewed with your advisers.
